Hit-and-run accident and drug smuggling

In some cases, a successful motor vehicle search is the starting point for solving other crimes such as drug trafficking. By analyzing paint fragments, the KTI initially supports investigators in their efforts to narrow the range of potentially involved vehicles and later in the process of matching microscopic trace evidence to a specific vehicle and driver.
